Stage 14: Valpromaro - Altopascio (20.04.2006)
Backgroundinformation
The final day of the second march week takes us from Valpromoro to Altopascio. We pass through Lucca along the way. This city gained its wealth through the production of silk cloth and brocade; today it is the essence of a Tuscan city for many. In Altopascio, we arrive at an old hospital fortress. Length of this continuously up-and-down stage: 34 km (20% gravel and meadow paths, 80% pavement).
