Backgroundinformation
This day of marching takes us from Montefiascone via Viterbo to La Madonella. North of Viterbo, we pass the public sulphur baths at Bagnaccio. The city of Viterbo, just eighty kilometers from the gates of Rome, is closely tied to the history of the Popes and is therefore called the City of the Popes. From the loggia of the Pope?s Palace, the newly elected Pope blessed the people. In the Dom of San Lorenzo, we participate in Sunday mass. The length of this varied stage: 27 km (90% gravel paths, 10% pavement).
